CASA GRANDE - the first 10 days

We have now been at Rovers' Roost in Casa Grande, Arizona for 10 days.  We have been busy.

We had a visit with our dear friends Sandie and Jim and Jeri and Terry.  We met for lunch in Chandler.

Jim, Sandie, Jeri, Terry and yours truly

After lunch, Doug and I continued on to Tempe to see Jeri and Terry's new fifth wheel and to visit with BUCK.  Buck is such a character.

Doug's comfort is one of our goals.  The recliner section of the sofa that came with the motorhome did not work for Doug's back.  That and the fact that it looked so "motorhome" precipitated this change.

From this

To this
Now this looks like a simple swap out.  Wrong.  The salesperson, a very nice and seemingly efficient young woman, assured us that this was a modular sectional which would be delivered to us in separate boxes and the crew would set it all up for us.  Wrong again.
In order to get it through the motorhome door, Doug had to take it all apart.  Not a simple task.

Out with the old

All in pieces
We are so happy with the new double recliner, with power.  They almost lay flat out.  So comfortable for us.  The coffee table fits exactly in the remaining spot.  Our very talented friend Joan gave us some of her art work which I framed.

Yesterday Doug bought a bicycle.  He has made several circles of the park and when he changes out the seat, he will go further.  I have ordered a folding stationery bike for myself.  I will sit in front of the tv and exercise every morning, I promise.

We have been to the movies twice.  First we saw The Mountain Between us with Idris Alba and Kate Winslet.  Very good.  Then the other night we saw Suburbicon with Matt Damien, it was weirdly excellent.

We have tickets to Phoenix Coyotes versus Winnipeg Jets on the 11th.

As I write this we are waiting to hear from our friends Donna and Gord from Merritt.  These are the folks that took the park over from us and they are dear friends.

For now, that's an update.

The new recliners look very cozy. Glad you got them in place in spite of apparent hassles. I love the way you make your RVs truly yours.

Nice recliner. Looks so comfy. People that don't live or travel in an RV have no idea what it is like changing out furniture. Even when we got a new mattress, we had to struggle getting the old one out and the new one in. Of course we were assured it wouldn't be a big deal.

So much fun to see you guys. Love the new recliners but what a hassle. Time just seems to fly by anymore.

It was nice to visit again. I'm glad you could stop by. We'll be heading in your direction to see your new home. Comfort is the most important thing. Glad you could replace what you had so you could enjoy your place more.
