Casa Grande, Arizona - getting settled

From Gallup, we traveled to Williams, Arizona where I had made a reservation at the KOA there.  We would drive the little car up to the Grand Canyon rather than taking the motorhome.  We figured that we would just make it a day trip.  We were surprised that the road up to the canyon would be so flat and easy.

And then we were there.

It was impressive to say the least.

The park is very well organized.  You can walk it if you want but there are free shuttle buses to all corners of the park.  After we rode the buses, we took the car and drove around a little more.  Parking is next to impossible so the shuttles were the way to go.

We had a quick and very expensive sandwich and we were off.  Doug doesn't like crowds and I don't like heights so that was enough for us.

The next day we traveled to Casa Grande.  We have navigated around Phoenix quite well in the past but this time was even easier.  Avoiding Highway 10 through Phoenix is the way to go.

So now we are at the Excapee park, Rovers' Roost, in Casa Grande.  The park is quite empty but four or five members arrive at their winter home every day.  We were able to get our usual site on which we can fit the motorhome, the car trailer, the car and our outside furniture.  We will be here for a month and then decide what next.  We may come back here for Christmas.

So as the sun sets, until next time.....

Wow! It seems like just yesterday you were in Minnesota but already you are in Arizona! Does Rover's Roost feel like coming home?
