GOOD BYE TO FRIENDS: On to Overton

We had such fun with our friends Edi and Terry and our new friends at the mini Brit Rally.  We were happy to be included.  I am, afterall, a second generation Brit.

This rally was at a part of the Quartzsite BLM that we have never visited.  We will definitely camp there again.  Referred to as Mile Marker 99 or Roadrunner area, it is south of Quartzsite but not much farther than LaPosa South.  Very nice.

Terry stays out of the sun.
The five couples really hit it off.  The girls had several games of Scrabble and on the second night we had a great pot luck.

From l to r, Me, Terry, Jack, Ruby, John, Jacolyn and Alan.  Missing Edi and Rose?  Doug took the picture.

Although we were only there with them three days, some very special friendships were made.  We look forward to seeing these folks again.
There seemed to be more wildlife in this area.  Doug was fascinated by the cactus wrens living in this dead saguaro outside the window.  There were not afraid of people and flitted all around our campsite.

This morning while we packed up, Doug spotted four coyotes crossing the area behind the rig.  Unfortunately they split up and he only got a photo of one.

Appropriate for the end of the blog, another Quartzsite sunset in all its glory.

Amazing who you meet along the trail! Q isn't my favorite place but sure have some great memories about folks we met there. Not sure if we'll ever return though as we're still looking for new pastures. You take care and have a safe journey "home".

Glad to read that y'all had a great time. One of the greatest things about this lifestyle is making friends were ever we stop. Safe travels.
