GETTING A LITTLE EASIER - Just a Little..

Things are getting somewhat easier in the park.  We survived our Victoria Day weekend.  We were sold out and we had long, long shifts and not many breaks.  We are only opening the gatehouse on Thursday, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until school gets out.  At that point we will be bringing in more staff.

Last Monday we made a trip to Kamloops, about 1 1/2hrs. away.  We did some shopping.  We are replacing things in the rig.  I desperately want to get rid of "the big chair".  It no longer swivels and is always in the way.  No such luck, no chair but we got some other things.

First we went through a huge cloud burst.  But then the sun came out.

First stop the bank, to deposit our cheques.

This was the bank I worked for

Then a little bargain hunting and a little grocery shopping.  And a hair cut.

Still no major finds.  Pushing on...

Then to return a wooden stool that broke after one day.

Canada's favourite snack
After 5 years, we were ready to replace our mattress.  The mattress places are reluctant to sell only the mattress and not the box spring.  The RV places were very expensive.  Good ole Walmart.  This was just the ticket.  $268 and so much fun.  It came in a box.  Take off the shrink wrap and it grows right before your eyes.  And so comfortable.

We are thrilled with it.  Some new sheets too and we are sleeping better already.

I don't have a picture of the next item.  For years I have wanted to buy a Blue Boy.  Doug thinks they are gross.  In this park, because we choose to be down with the campers, we only have grey water disposal.  So every month we have to hook up and haul to the dump station.  It's only a minute or so but because we have a very tricky site to get into and we can't block the road, it takes nearly two hours.  No more, a 20 gallon Blue Boy is now ours.  Haven't figured out where to store it yet but hey, we will.

I will close with more wildlife pictures.  Spring is here and the park is alive with babies.

Brand new Great Horned Owl

Last years doe, but where has she hidden the fawn?

We have seen other RVers buy that same mattress. We will be in the market for one in about a year. Thanks for the great review.

You only have to dump your black tank once a month. That is incredible.

Interesting about the mattress. I think I've seen that advertised on TV though. The black tank will be used plenty so it probably was a great purchase since most of your camping is boondocking.

We bought a new mattress last winter from Mattress King. We were able to drive the motorhome to pick it up and they took our old one. It was very easy. Glad your days are getting easier.

Always love it when you have a nice comfy bed to crawl into after a long day. You guys are definitely earning those pay checks. Hope it eases up a little bit more. We still haven't used our Blue Boy but we don't boondock like you guys do. I think you'll be really happy with it.
