From Borrego Springs we had two choices one route was snake-like but shorter. The other was 20 miles longer but straighter. We took the wiggly one. Yikes.
From the top of the first bit, looking down on Borrego Springs.
Up was slow and scary but we did it. Down...holy cow, the brakes were smokin'. The scenery was pretty. Lots of nurseries and orange groves.
We had mapped out our route into Los Angeles on Streets and Trips, Google maps, the map book and the GPS. I memorized it over night.
We were on the road at 6:30 am. First things, first - Canada won gold in Olympic hockey - Yeah!
So very very stressfully we made made our way through the big city. No mistakes, no harsh words. No one hit us, we didn't hit anyone. There was a lot more traffic on the road that we had expected but we did it.
So now we are at Hollywood Casino and Racetrack (now defunct). We are the only ones here. Huge parking lot. We have no problem running our generator, who's to care.
The casino is across from LAX so it's like our own private air show. Continuous. Yeah, it's noisy but it doesn't bother us.
Tomorrow we will explore where we are supposed to park for The Price is Right. Want to be ready for Tuesday.

We usually sacrifice a little time for the straight way. Good luck at the show. Hope you get picked.
I can't wait to hear how it goes. Are you going to do other shows while in the area?
Don't forget to take time and walk the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
I would probably have cried the whole way. And my nerves would have been shot. So glad you guys made it safely. So excited for you for tomorrow.
We went that road downhill last year coming back from our trip to Julian. Very scenic, but Boy, was I glad that I didn't have to drive! I would never do that with a MH!
I remember LA from way back in 2005. That's the traffic we had this year all the way down the east coast! Give me the desert any day! LOL
I think we all have at least one scary road story. Glad you made it safely through yours.
We'll all be rooting for you tomorrow.
Whee ... glad that's behind you. Lots of luck tomorrow.
