ARTILLERY RIDGE RV PARK - Gettysburg, Pennsylvania - Close to Perfect

We found this one on Passport America but it is also a 50% off for Escapees members park.

This was the sun rising out the bedroom window this morning.  The park was a lot fuller but being the Sunday of the long weekend, it emptied pretty quickly.

This quite a unique park for a couple of reasons.  The National Riding Stables are in the park and there are horse friendly sites with corrals.  You see riders around the park all the time.  We like that but some people, on the RV reviews, obviously don't.

The Gettysburg battlefields are across the road!  Doug loves the fact that he and Parker take their morning walks in history.  He says it feels surreal.

This is the Pennsylvania monument.  The bronze plaques show the 55,000 casualties from Pennsylvania alone.

Here is the Gettysburg Address:

Tonight we went to Friendly's for dinner.  Our first experience.  We found the food was pretty good, the price was okay.  Our waitress made a bunch of mistakes but it was really busy.  This is a patron leaving the restaurant.  He looks happy.  Jerimiah was a bull frog.  Is this a bull frog?  or a toad?

Gettysburg is an amazing place. I'm glad you stopped there. And that you didn't hate Friendly's after I recommended it. :)

If you're still there you need to eat at the Dobbin House Tavern. But not upstairs - downstairs in the bar. We had fabulous food there and then went to Friendly's for dessert.
