TEECE FAMILY REUNION 2010

Oh so much fun.  Oh, so exhausting.  Oh, so hot.

Well it's done for another five years.  There were 93 in attendance.  The oldest was 93 years old and the youngest was 6 years old.  All of these people are descents of Doug's grandparents Herbert and Grace Teece.  Herbert died in 1984 just after I had met Doug.  I did not know Grace.  They were married in 1916 and had nine children, Marjorie, Jack, Philip, Kathleen (Doug's Mom), Esther, Edith, Margaret, Allan and Sarah.  Allan died at age 6 and Philip was killed in World War II.  Only Margaret has a husband and as of this weekend he had only days to live.

Esther Mernett had twelve children so they out number the rest quite well.  They are the loudest, the best musicians and probably the best drinkers.

Kathleen (called Kay) had three boys;  Bill married to Linda and have daughter Samantha; David married to Elizabeth have sons Andrew and Jeff and Jeff is married to Aleece and they have two boys Maclean and Calum; Doug, the lucky guy married me and we have together; Jason, married to Michelle with daughters Ashleigh and Sophie; Charlette married to Glen and they have two boys James and William; Nicole married to Mike with daughter Nico and son Jakob; Gayle, not yet married yet but has wonderful boyfriend Vahan; Loreena married to Chris no kids yet; and Graeme our youngest at 24.

Not all of our children could make it but we were well represented and we made our presence known.
I tied myself for first place in the dessert bakeoff; Granddaughter Nico was third.  I won one of the Scrabble games, Doug the other.  We worked hard but had fun.

Here are a few pictures.

This is Gayle, Doug's Mom and his cousin Eila.

This is a bunch of Mernett on the beach.

And this is our beautiful daughter Gayle and her boyfriend Vahan.

This is where we parked at the Sunnybrae Hall.  There were only a couple of us camping at the hall.
This is the matriarch, Marjorie who is 93 and Doug's Mom Kay who is 89 this November.
And this is Esther who is 85 and Sarah who is 79.

Looks like a fun time. And you tied yourself? That's great. I guess that means you'll be fixing both of those desserts in Yuma for us?
