Let the Fun Begin - Teece Family Reunion 2010

After most enjoyable week with Andrew and Avee at the farm, we are pulling up stakes in the morning and heading off to the Teece Family Reunion.  We have them every five years and we have a great time.  I will make sure that I post lots of pictures.

There will be about 80 to 100 people there.  The original Teece family consisted of eight children: Marjorie who is now 94 is in great shape before physically and mentally;  Kathleen (Kay) who is Doug's mom will be 89 in November, sadly this will probably be her last reunion; Jack passed away last year;
Edith passed away when Doug was a teenager; Phillip was killed in the war; Margaret who may not be at the reunion as her husband is gravely ill; Esther will be there along with most of her 12 children and innumerable grandchildren; and Sarah the baby.

This is Doug, his two brothers (David on the left, Bill on the right) and his mother Kay.

Our daughter, Nicole, her husband Mike and children Nico and Jakob are coming from Vancouver.
Daughter Gayle is flying into Vancouver from Montreal with her boyfriend Vahan and then driving up with our son Graeme.

There will be a few missing but we are happy with our family's turnout.  Here is a picture taken just days before we left our stix and brix for our life on the road.

We are taking the fifth wheel to the hall at Sunnybrae near Tappen, near Salmon Arm.  Most branches of the family have a job.  Our main job was games.  We have planned a Scrabble Tournament, ladder golf (thank you American friends), and water balloon toss (always a hoot).  There will be a Dessert Bake Off which I hope to win!  I've made Sweet Potato pies, Crater Cake and Gramma Squares.

Sunnybrae is on Shuswap Lake and we are truly hoping, desperately hoping, that there will be some breeze off the lake to cool us down.  It will not be too comfortable in the old hall with no air conditioning.  Last time, it was hot.  This time it is way past hot.

Anyhow, stay tuned.

With all the family fun, you really are going to need some alone time! It'll give you a chance to catch your breathe!
