CHRISTMAS 2016

Every year we spend our Christmas in the Escapee park in Casa Grande, Arizona.  The people here are our winter family.

Usually we come for a month.  I tend to get very involved in the Christmas plans and get worn out.  This year we just came for 2 weeks.

We were late for the "meet and greet" that first day and before I could say Merry Christmas, I was signed up to make gravy for 100 guests at the Christmas day dinner.  Okay, I can do that.

We put up outside Christmas lights and a very small tree.

Christmas Eve was the Christmas party in the clubhouse.  Finger foods, carols and interesting gift exchanges.

Mrs. Santa and her friend Joan
Apparently in Arizona, Santa Claus wears shorts.

Approximately 90 people attended.  It was fun.

Doug and I exchange Christmas gifts on Christmas morning.

Christmas dinner is held Christmas afternoon at 2:00.  There was lots and lots of food.  There are many side dishes that we were unaware are traditional Christmas dishes. Tamales?

We had a few friends over Christmas nights for Figgy Pudding and drinks.

This afternoon we met up with our very busy friends, Jan and Bill, for lunch.  We had a lovely lunch and great conversation.

We have a busy week ahead of us and then New Years' Eve.  We leave Casa Grande on the 2nd of January.

I almost didn't recognize me without the glasses. Enjoyed our time with you. Hopefully, we can manage to squeeze in one more before you head out. Tell Doug the big yank on the handle worked.
