It all started with a new vacuum cleaner, an upright vacuum cleaner. We had no closet high enough for her. We call her The Right Honourable Ms. Bissell.
Doug is always looking to make things better and spend as little money as possible. With that in mind we started The Great Cabinet Shuffle. We needed a door that was tall enough for the much anticipated home of Ms. Bissell. The pantry door was just the right size but then what to use on the pantry. Well one of the wardrobe doors would be most suitable.
Off came the door and in went some wonderfully deep and useful drawers.
So that door became the door on the pantry. At first I didn't care for the fact that the pantry door had a mirror on it. But it makes the room look bigger.
And then there were the drawers below the pantry. Voila - drawer fronts. Nice ones with nice handles. Lots more room in there too.
Back to Ms. Bissell and her closet. Her closet indeed. We have wanted an actual coat closet for a long time. She will share with hats, coats and keys.
The place the coat closet is going used to have a shelf. Doug moved that shelf inside the near-by make-do coat cupboard.
There were various stages to completing the coat closet.
And then it was done, finally finished to Doug's perfectionist standards.
But wait, there used to be a shelf under the window. Someplace for the remote, movies and glasses.
Not to worry, a new one. Doug is getting to be quite the cabinet maker wouldn't you say.
And all because we got a new vacuum cleaner.

That looks like a perfect solution to me. Great job!
Your house keeps getting better and better thanks to Doug's great skills. Now. I just ordered a new vacuum cleaner; wonder if I'll need to borrow Doug.
The place is amazingly clean and very spacious. Cleaning does take a lot of time.
