2015 Comes to an End

As 2015 draws to a close, we have been doing the usual "week between Christmas and New Year's Eve" things you all do.

Christmas morning we opened the few gifts we had for each other.  I, being practical, got Doug a robe, some sleep pants and a jacket.   He knew what I wanted and he did one better.  He got me Nextbook.  It's a tablet with an ereader.  So we challenged our brains again setting it up.

We discovered that you pretty much have to have a cover for a tablet because they are difficult to hold on to.  We got one and have got lots of books loaded.  A friend gave us about a hundred.  Thanks Pam.

Then we decided to upgrade our laptops to Windows 10.  No problem (although at this moment I am getting messages about it moving all my photos into albums).  The Dell that we use at the park is too old to upgrade. By the way it takes a long, long time.  About 5 hours. And you can't just leave it cause it asks things.

I have not revealed much about our weather in Arizona.  For good reason, although we have not had any rain at all, it is cold.!!  Our water is frozen most mornings.

This is Tabletop Mountain, out of front window.  And yes, that is a sprinkling of snow.  They got a bit in Phoenix as well.  The temperature does climb to about 60-65 during the day, but this is quite unusual.  The weather liar predicts temperatures in the mid 70's for the next few days.

It's nearly always sunny though.

We have finished our stint as dog sitters.  Although Blitz is a pretty good dog it definitely reinforced our lack of desire to  have another pet.  Too many obligations.

So, out with 2015 and in with 2016.  It's going to be a good year.  We just heard that Graeme and Adrienne are going to get married.  No details yet.  After having Adrienne in Vancouver with him for 12 days, Graeme had a very hard time putting her on the plane for St. Louis this morning.

SO.......

George said it all, that it is much colder here. We'll be lucky to see daytime highs above the freezing mark until early April.
In the meantime we wish you both a Safe and Happy New Year.

It's about time.

Sounds like it is going to be a great year for your family!

Books--bookbub.com lets you list your preferred genres then they send you an email every day telling you what books are free and cheap in your categories. As much as I read I'm finding the free ones to be plenty. So, if you can handle the fact of getting an email from then EVERY day, you might want to check it out.

Congrats goes out to Graeme! Now you need to convince him to plan the big event when it's convenient for you!

Florida has been experiencing hot weather and we've been told it's very unusual for this time of year. You're having cold and we're having hot. I'd like a happy medium.
