On the Road Again

back row - Lizzy, Stefani, David, Me, Tamara (David's sister) and Mark (Tamara's husband)                                                        front row - Doug, Milo (David's Dad) Donna (Milo's girlfriend) and Nickolas
They say that parting is such sweet sorrow.  I don't know what they mean but there was nothing sweet about parting.  We played down the good-byes and left David and family early Tuesday morning.  It was cold, very cold.

We had a route chosen but plans change.  Doug wanted to see The Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota.  Al Yankovic fans will know what I am talking about.  No trouble finding it but afterwards we both wondered why.  Oh well, been there, done that.

We "Walmarted" at Litchfield, Minnesota, Columbus, Nebraska and Pratt, Kansas.  Not much sleep, pretty cold but we were on a mission, sunshine.

Doug had researched Ute Lake State Park on-line.  There wasn't much information on line.  We just knew it was just over the border of New Mexico and would probably be warm.

Pleasantly surprised!  Beautiful park.  Electricity and water, free WiFi, many channels on our antenna, pull-thrus and sunshine - $14.00 a night.  We paid for four nights but will probably stay a few more.  The plan?  none - we are resting and recuperating from a very emotional reunion.

Glad you had such an awesome visit with David, family and friends. I bet it feels good to be on the road again.

Take time to savor those memories you just made. Enjoy your sunshine. I am soooo ready for the desert.

One thing you do know is that David is now going to be a big part of your future. That's nice thoughts to head south with.
