BREATHLESS

This will be a quickie.

First HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my wonderful husband of nearly 30 years.   I am no longer married to a younger man.   Happy 63rd palamine!

We are unbelievably busy.  I have worked 3 - 12 hour shifts in a row and will probably have a couple more before our Victoria Day weekend is over.  We have no one trained to work in the gatehouse alone so it's just me.   I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel though.   Tuesday we are having a day off, just the third in a month.

This is how my gatehouse looked when we got here.

It looks a lot different now.   The new contractor has a lot of new ideas.  It's definitely not true that you can't teach an old dog new tricks!   We even have a Keurig machine, oh and an iPad with a credit card reader.

Niki, Mike, Jakob, Nico with Edie, Vahan, Gayle and Wren

On our last day off, we went to Vancouver for the day - 3 hrs there, 3 hrs back.   Hectic.  But we had a great family day.  Daughter Gayle, husband Vahan and babies Wren (2) and Edie (5 months) were there from Montreal.  We had never met Edie.

Edie
We think they are adorable.  What personalities.   Little Edie is going to be the boss when they are a bit older, that's for sure.

I will close with some more wild life pictures.   The goose in the osprey's abandoned nest is a hoot don't you think.

We call her Nacho because she has a notch out of her ear.

Hey, that was for the birds!

Hmm, I did know what type of bird this was but I forgot

Great Horned Owl.  There are chicks in the nest now, white and fuzzy, but we haven't had time to get a picture.

That expression.   "Well so what, you never seen a goose in a nest 40 feet up".  What about the goslings?  We are told she will just boot them out.   If they surprised, good for them.

WOW...don't want you two to get burned out before summer gets here.

The three hour drive sure is worth it when you have those little ones to look forward to.

I can't believe the nest!
Get someone trained so you don't have to work so much. Tell Doug we said "Happy Birthday."

Hope you get help soon. Otherwise, it is going to be a VERY long summer. You and the Weavers will both be looking forward to winter vacation time.
