Borrego Spring, California

Friday we arrived at Borrego Springs.  We had some difficulty finding the boondocking area we had been told to look for.  The temperature was scorching.  When we thought we had found the right place, or close to it, we just parked.  Simple as that, no searching for the perfect place, we just stopped. And it definitely wasn’t perfect.

 

                                                                                              

Saturday we did nothing.  Not hard to do nothing when you have no cell phone service, no internet service and no television.  We read a little, we slept a lot and got in a couple of game of Scrabble.  We were exhausted.

 

Sunday we decided to look for a better place.  Our friends rave about Borrego Springs.  If I had been able to get on-line, I might have looked at the pictures on their blogs for clues.  So we drove around the area and into the little town of Borrego Springs and we think this must be the place or nearly.  We found a much better site just down the road and moved. 

 

                 

                                                                            

 

We have sporadic Verizon service, mostly in the evening and the phone, well we don’t use it much anyhow.

Television, we can live without for a while although I do like to keep up with the Olympics and of course, we have to do our Price is Right research .  Nine days to show time.

 

This afternoon Doug and I played dress-up in the t-shirts we have made for The Price is Right.  Goofy!

 

                                                                                                                                                 

                                                                                                                 

While we were driving around this afternoon, we found the metal sculptures Borrego Springs is famous for.  They are scattered all around the desert.  These are just a few of our favourites.  As you can see we were having fun with them.
