I put an note on the local bulletin board "Wanted TV" and lo and behold another RV'er replied. The television was not as big as we thought we wanted but everything else was exactly as we wanted. It's a Vizio HD LED LCD whatever that means. It's less than a year old and he paid almost $300 dollars for it. We got it for $120.
So then how to install it. It did not come with a wall mount and even if it had had one, it would look stupid in the big frame in the entertainment center.
Off we go to the hardware store. We were looking for a shelving that Doug could built suitable. Nothing like that. I found some prefab shelves. We had fun putting them together.
We mounted the shelves in the frame and screwed the television stand to the top. We went back to the hardware store and got some fabric drawers to hide the holes where the former electrical outlets were.
A couple of curios and Voila! We love it. It is so much more unpretentious. I feel like it suits us much better. We are not huge tv watchers so why do we need a huge tv.
What do you think?
Drawers 17.00 = $154.00
Less than we expected to pay for the television only.
Great thing too. This television has a built in transformer which saves about 1/3 of the power. Great for boondockers.
Just cause I know you are going to ask. Yes, we have a strap to hold the tv up there while we travel.
