A LITTLE SIDE TRIP - Bouse, Arizona

Saturday morning we needed generator gas and a few groceries.  Doug suggested we drive up to Bouse (like house).  It's about 20 miles from where we are parked and we didn't really know whether we would find gas or groceries.  I protested but lost!  Glad I did.

The town is pretty run-down.  But we found interesting stuff.  Lots of history there.  Military history mostly.

We did find the gas, a little more pricey than Quartzsite and we did find groceries at A & C Mercantile, founded in 1902 and we found a great junk store.
We discovered that there is boondocking all the way up Plomosa Road to Bouse.  Good for future reference.

Wanted to share this funny sign.  For the last few years we have seen a sign "Cactus Curlers" directing off the highway in Quartzsite.  Surely they don't curl in the desert.  Nope, they don't but we found a funny sign.
  Tee hee!

HAHA...love the sign. Someone has a great sense of humor.
You never know what little treasures you will find in those little towns.

Well, we never made it though. It definitely looks interesting. Maybe another time and maybe another year.

Love that sign. Just cracks me up. We haven't been to Bouse yet - may just have to check that out.
