Christmas is the time I really, really miss my children and my grandchildren.
Granddaughter Sophie and the muff I knit for her
We spoke to all of our children and grandchildren in Vancouver and Winnipeg. We told them we loved them. We told them we missed them and wished them all Merry Christmas.
Another woman and I organized a Christmas Eve party in the Clubhouse. We had a pot luck and two fun gift exchanges. The evening was a success.
The club has a Christmas dinner in the clubhouse as well but we wanted something a little more personal. Friends Joan and Ken offered their “shed” for four couples for dinner. I did the turkey, gravy, stuffing and our family’s traditional Figgy Puddin.
We had so much fun we forgot to take pictures except for this pre-meal one and this one of our turkey and Ken.
I bet there aren’t many family Christmas turkey carving pictures with a dust pan and brush in them.
Good food, great friends and lots of fun.
A trade off but good for now.

Merry Christmas to you both!,,
So glad your party in the clubhouse was a success. I know that means a lot to you.
With you organizing the party, it is no wonder it was a success.
Your granddaughter is a doll!
It is hard to be away from the kids at Christmas but we, too, had a wonderful time with lots of good food.
You are right. Good friends and good food equals good times!
