LOST AND FOUND

Today we were off to Chandler, AZ for another reconnection with a school chum.  Wendy and I haven’t seen each other since her High School graduation (well, except for once and we can barely remember that time in the ‘70’s).

Wendy is on the far right.
I blogged about meeting up with Corrine, on the far left earlier this month.  Sadly, the girl in the middle died several years ago.
Wendy and her husband Paul have flown to Las Vegas and picked up a rental car and are driving to Santa Fe, New Mexico.  I was honoured that she wanted to meet with us in Chandler.

Once before we had met some friends at a restaurant called Old Chicago convenient because it is about half way between Phoenix, where they were, and Casa Grande, where we were.  So off to Old Chicago we go.
We arrived about fifteen minutes before our arranged meeting time only to discover that Old Chicago is gone.  It’s been gutted and made into a new restaurant.  Google was not up to date.  Wendy had Google instructions there, no phone and no GPS.  It was just lucky that we were standing outside when she drove by.
We decided that we would head further into Chandler, maybe to their “old town” and they led the way.  AND they lost us at a stop light.  Remember, no phone, no GPS.  We sat on the side of the road for a while and then decided to find a restaurant and hope that they would find a pay phone and call us.

They did and we had a wonderful lunch.  Great food, great service and very reasonably priced.  (Especially when your friends pay – THANK YOU)

This has been so much fun reuniting with old friends.  Hopefully we will do it again.

The restaurant is gone??? I'm sure glad you were able to meet up with your friends after all that.

Who doesn't have a cell phone? I didn't realize everyone didn't carry them today. At least you connected and that's important. Fun, fun, fun.

Glad you were able to keep finding one another. Sounds like the payoff was worth it. I do find it irritating to follow someone who doesn't know how to lead though.
