HUNGRY YET

I love to cook.  I love to bake.  I have since I was a kid.  Can’t honestly say my Mom taught me because she was English and well…. you know.

I was always confused with people who took cooking classes.  I  figured if you can read, you can cook.  Yeah I know there are those who would say it’s a talent.  Doug and I would be a lot thinner if I didn’t, I’m sure.  We do eat out but not much.  We eat out when it’s a convenience and when it’s with friends.

I have several cook books but mostly I use the bible of all cook books – Betty Crocker.  My other cook book is a collection of recipes I have saved either from the internet or from friends.

Now I am going to make you hungry.

There are definitely things I do differently in my relatively small kitchen.  I make sure that I put ingredients away as soon as I’ve used them.  I wash out and reuse measuring cups, spoons etc as I go along.  I rarely bake or cook one thing.  I figure if I am going to mess up the kitchen I may as well do two or more things at once.

Well, I'm not hungry but then it is 6:00 AM and at that time I just drink my coffee. However, if you were closer, I could be convinced to take a small sample of that Lemon Meringue Pie! That's one of my favorites ... right behind rhubarb. You did say meringue and not cream? Right? It's the meringue that makes it special.
