Ah, what a day. Just the kind of day we have been waiting for.
This morning we went to the parade for the Salmon Arm Fall Fair. Where we are parked is just three blocks from the fair grounds and the beginning of the parade.
We found a place in the shade, sat in our chairs and watched the parade pass by. Parker was enjoying himself too although he was confused by the llamas, afraid of the horses and wanted to follow the dogs.
After a few chores and Doug’s short visit with his Mom, we went to the fair.
We qualified as seniors and saved $2.00 on the $10.00 price of admission!
We toured the animal barns fairly quickly as even though it was late in the afternoon, it was still very hot.
We enjoyed the flowers and the crafts. (this one’s for you Marsha – weaving from Ponderosa Pine needles)
We had some dinner and watched the talent show. These young girls and boys were amazing.
From behind us we heard a roar and a gasp, and were able to witness these crazy young guys (maybe girls too) flying through the air with the greatest of ease. Oh to be young again, not just crazy.
It was a full day, we enjoyed it all. We walked back crossing three playing fields in our bare feet.

Sounds like a fun day. I like small town fairs. I like big fairs too but they can tire me out too much.
OH...I love a parade and fair! What a wonderful day you two had.
Thanks for the pine needle basket. They are lovely. I may think of entering a basket in our fair next year. I have never seen one in the fair. Maybe I can be a trend setter....hehe
Question...Is Salmon Arm the name of the town or are you celebrating the Salmon?
Fairs are so much fun. I love going to them. They're all different but yet so much the same. It looks like you had a great time!
I'm just amazed you can walk that far barefoot!!!!
