MORE FAMILY CHRISTMAS FUN

Merry Christmas Everyone

Today was Christmas day.  Graeme had stayed over so we had a quiet breakfast just the three of us.  For Graeme I made our family traditional Christmas breakfast, scones and cinnamon twists.

Doug and Parker had walked in the park in the morning and Doug picked out a gift for Graeme, a stick.  But a very special stick, one chewed off by a beaver.  Graeme and Doug have the same sense of humour and therefore Graeme appreciated the gift.

Note - our new fireplace, nah, just the tv

We went to Jason and Michelle's for Christmas dinner.  Jason tells us that he never liked turkey so traditionally they have prime rib for Christmas dinner.  I took a turkey so we could have both.

Jason and Michelle's tree - very modern
This year I made most of the gifts for the children.  I made knitted stuffed animals for the little ones.  We also donated to World Vision and Unicef in their names.  Sophie and Ashleigh are responsible for story books for a whole school in Africa.  Nico and Jakob for five fruit trees in a village.  They seem to appreciate the gestures.  Sophie loved her pink pony and bright orange lion.

By the end of the evening we were pooped.  Glad to get home to our little house on wheels and our pjs.

Next week at this time we will be somewhere else.  South of Portland somewhere and back to our life on the road.

Homemade gifts are always the best! They take thought, work and effort.

Homemade gifts are the best ever. Years from now the kids will still have those gifts and the other ones they received will be long forgotten. Be safe on your journey south.

Those scones and cinnamon twists are huge! They could be served at dinner for the main dish!
What a wonderful idea...gifts to the world. I do want to begin that tradition next year! I have been remissed in not doing so.

My SIL served prime rib, too. Said she was tired of turkey and ham. I love prime rib but seldom have it so I was happy. Dave managed to get an end cut so he was OK with it. :)

I maybe should get those animal patterns from you. It appears we are about to have a baby boom among our friends and family and I'm wondering what to do about gifts. Those are adorable!
