DOWN ON THE FARM (RANCH) Part Two

We are still here at the ranch and will be for a while.

In the meantime, we are enjoying the solitude and ssssshhh, the sunshine.  Ross and Cynthia go about the hustle and bustle of running several businesses and the business of running a ranch.  This weekend Ross, some family and friends went branding.  Sounds just like the old days.  Apparently they branded over 200 calves.  The calves belong to neighbours.  Apparently their granddaughter, Taylor, who is 5
yrs old. had her first taste of prairie oysters (bull balls!!!).  Yikes!

As we are camping out on the top half of the ranch, the horses are usually not far away.

And of course there are lots of places for Parker to run and play.

Parker - one happy traveling dog
Parker is usually a happy traveling dog HOWEVER here at the ranch Parker has met his nemesis.  There are two barn cats.  One is very shy and hangs out in the rafters.  The other one, a little brown cat, is very friendly (stone deaf too) and Parker is terrified of him.  Seriously, the cat chases the dog around the property.  The cat sits at our door and Parker will not pass him to come inside.  Yesterday, Doug had left the dog house bay open.  The cat got in there and when Parker saw this, rather than defending his space, he took off.   Ha ha ha.

The cats.  Barn cats don't usually have names.  The brown on is Ben

That is the cutest picture of the girls and the pony. Poor Parker - you really need to do a better job of protecting him from those terrible bullies.

The neighbor here feeds the wild cats. Needless to say, there are a lot of them around. They come out at night and annoys Duchess. Then, Duchess annoys us several times a night wanting out.
