ORGAN STOP PIZZA - Pizza with Friends

On Thursday we drove up to Mesa to meet with a group of Escapee friends at Organ Stop Pizza.  The drive up was easy, took about an hour and fifteen minutes.

It was an amazing place. There is a huge Wurlitzer organ that was once in a theater in Denver.  The cavernous building was all pipes and speakers filled the place with music.  There are long tables on the ground floor and more tables on the mezzanine.  There is not a bad seat in the house.  We sat upstairs.

The music was very loud.  The organist was amazing.  How he can control all those pedals is beyond me.  I made a few requests;  Happy Birthday for our son Graeme as it was his 25th birthday that day, and "When I'm Sixty-Four", one of our favourites.  He played those two.  Most of the music was suitable Christmas music.

As most of you know, we were in the pizza business for many years.  We make an awesome pizza.  The pizza at Organ Stop was neither good or inexpensive.  Our pizza was barely warm.  We believe the crust was not made on the premises.

It was a fun evening and really nice to get together with our friends, some we hadn't seen for a year.

Thank you Sandie for organizing the evening.

On the way back, there was a seven car crash on the Interstate which prompted a three car crash as well.  It took us almost two hours to get back.  Sheesh.

I was sure glad you guys could join us. The only problem with Organ Stop is that it's not conducive to visiting because the music is loud. Hopefully, we'll see you guys again real soon.

You all look like you are having such a great time...yes, I am a little jealous! But glad you are all together. Enjoy.

Hopefully, the music show made up for the pizza. The organ is really what draws people in. It sure can't be for the company since you can't hear each other talk once the music starts. :)
