GET TOGETHERS AND A PRISON VISIT (well Prison Museum)

Tuesday afternoon, friends Eric and Karla, Sherry and Sharon came to visit us at Rovers' Roost.  They had never been and wanted to check it out for future reference.  We took them with us to Social Hour and they seemed to have a good time.  Afterward we went to Pizza Hut in town.  The pizza was great, the company even better.

This afternoon, Doug and I drove up to Florence to meet Sandie and Jim.  Believe it or not we have never been to a Mexican restaurant.  Of course, we have had tacos and even fritata but we have never had Mexican out.  We needed someone to explain to us what was what and what was hot!   We went to LB Inn in Florence.  Good food, even better company.

After lunch, we went to the Prison Museum which just happens to across the street.  Doug and I had been last year but it's very interesting (a little morbid but interesting).

This chair was built because brothers wanted to be executed side by side.

Hanging noose.  Bet you didn't know that hanging noose we customized for size.  This noose is the original.  Yuck!

Yeah, an invitation to a handing.

Prison record.  This kept track of what the prisoner was doing in the prison.  The first caption says that he was sent to "snakes" for a few days and then laundry.

Records of who was hung when and what they wanted for their last meal.

Self explanatory

Bet you didn't know this either.  They don't just slip that custom noose around your neck, they lace this board up your back to make sure everything goes according to plan.

I thought you were telling us about it but sometimes it is fun to re-do things too. Glad you had a great time.

A good hangman also adjusts the rope for the weight of the person being hanged. Ugh!

Never ate Mexican? Now you have experienced all of the U.S.A...LOL.
The museum looks like something I would really enjoy. Hope to stop there next we go through that area.
You 4 look so happy. Sorry we won't meet up with you all this winter. Hopefully our paths will cross sometime this year.
Happiest of New Year to you both!
