RIVER WALK - Savannah Georgia

This is our last day for sightseeing in Savannah.  Hopefully the axle will arrive tomorrow and we will have it installed on Wednesday and then be on our way.  Don't get me wrong, we love Savannah.  We will be back again and again, but it's time to go.

Today we did The River Walk in Historic Town in Savannah.  It was a beautiful day.

There was a tall ship called The Peacemaker that we toured for free.

Not sure what this restaurant was called.  It had a veranda but I think 10:30 in the morning was a little early for a mint julep.

A paddle wheeler.   Not sure how much the tours are but again, we were too early.

A memorial to the slave trade.  The plaque below has a very moving passage written by Maya Angelo

Doug's lunch at River Walk Seafood - an oyster po'boy

My lunch - a fresh shrimp sandwich with sweet potato chips.  Both meals were yummy.

We had lunch with a couple that we had met while walking along the boardwalk.  They too are rv'ers, not sure whether full-timers or not, from Florida and California.  It was really nice to have lunch with total strangers and have so much in common.  We exchanged cards and hope to hear from them again.
