Stop Number 57 - Somewhere between Salmon Arm and Falkland

Could it be more perfect?  We are on the mountain behind our friend Ross and Cynthia's ranch.  They are building a new house up here but until then they are building this massive shop and an "apartment" for them until they complete the new house.  And we get to stay here.

It would be pretty hard to tell you where we are but we are between Salmon Arm, B. C. and Falkland, BC close to the tiny village of Silver Creek.  The locals call the area Yankee Flats.

We have cell phone service, internet with the aircard, a couple of fuzzy channels on the tv, water, power and unbelievable open spaces.  During the evening we are going to be all alone.  During the day Doug and I will help Cynthia with the finishing in the kitchen of their "apartment".

Cynthia and I have been friends for 35 years.  Her roommate and my roommate were best friends and neither her or I liked them.  So we became friends.  She married Ross about 30 years ago on horseback at a ranch they were running at the time near Kalamalka.

Doug and I have been keeping a picture journal of the view outside the dining room window at all the places we stay.  This one wins!  This is what Ross drove up to greet us in.

We are going to stay about a week and then on to our nephew's farm.
