As we usually do on the night before leaving, today we did little things around the house and the truck. I washed the rig, cleaned the windows on the truck, and Doug washed the dog.
I like to make a "fancy" meal the night before leaving because we never know what we will be doing at dinner the next night. Usually I am too tired to cook. We tend to have a tv dinner in the freezer for those occasions.
Since we have been away, Doug as discovered Chicken Fried Steak, something we have only ever read about, so I decided to give it a whirl. Here's how it turned out.
And for dessert I "fixed" lemon meringue pie. Made from the gigantic lemons that Margaret and Ted picked for us. I have two left. Hope they last until we get back so I can make pie for our family.

Stop it! Just stop it! I can't stand looking at all your food when we should actually be eating it!!
I agree with Jeri. Everything you make is a masterpiece - not only in taste but in how it looks. What a talent.
