ANOTHER JUMP and Quartzsite

Yes, Doug jumped out of a plane again.  One last time before we leave the area.  Next year he may take the course and jump alone.

and Doug is jumping with ?Monkey?

Doug on the seat with the grey shirt, his instructor Monkey in front of him.

This time I timed it.  From the time he goes off on the plane until he lands is 40 minutes.  The plane circles around until it is 13,000 ft. before the jumpers exit the plane.

Here he comes.

And he is down.

Detached and discussing the jump

We left the Casa Grande area the next morning and traveled northwest for the first time to Quartzsite.  Quartzsite is the mecca for RVers.  The rigs come in all shapes and sizes from car campers to supersized motorhomes and 5th wheels.  We are all boondocking or off the grid.  Solar reigns supreme.  You just drive out into the desert and choose your spot.

The huge RV show ended a week ago and so there are way fewer rigs here.  They estimate there are 100,000 rigs here at the height of the season.  Many come for the whole winter.
We cast a giant shadow

Just a few of the rigs outside our window.
Believe it or not this is perhaps the quietest place at night.

We will stay about 5 days and then head further north.

I think if I had to jump out of a plane I would barf all over myself.

I miss going to Quartzsite and meeting up with all of you. I'm glad so many of you are still able to go.

We had to change our plans this year so we've been in La Posa South since December 2nd until we leave in March. We like this better then being in the Parks. Maybe we can get to saying Hello.
Great Jumps Doug!
Be Safe and Enjoy!

It's about time.

Good job, Doug! When I get in a plane, I want to stay there until it lands safely.

Thanks for the comment on our blog; we'll be in Bandon until the end of March, so if you're in the area, let us know!
