From Place to Place in Tucson

Tucson has a South-Western flavour.  More than any other place in Arizona, I think.  The fact that there are 4 Trader-Joes in the city is evidence of the presence of a younger hepper population.

We have been here several times and decided that as well as staying at the usual places, we would try Catalina State park.  It's pricey at $30.00 a night but the sites are huge and it is very quiet.  There are lots of hiking trails too.  Doug took a couple of hikes and these pictures are just a few he took.

We stayed at Catalina State park for 2 nights and have moved on to Casino del Sol.  We have boon-docked here several times.  The lot is all paved and the landscaping is included.  It's like parking in an RV park but it is completely free.  They have added garbage containers this year. Of course, they expect you to gamble, which we don't really.  They have a great buffet which we are going to enjoy this evening.

On Sunday we will move a very little way to Diamond J RV park for a few nights.  We have been there several times.  The owners run the place and the nicest thing I can say about them is that they are a little eccentric.  But it's a beautiful park.

After that, well we are determined to live day by day so we don't know.

We are still enjoying our cat Zoe so much.  She is definitely a character and keeps us entertained.

I love the area Diamond J's is in. Check out the park next door and see what you think.

Your pictures of Zoe make me want to pet her. Lucky you to have found her.

We love Tucson. The best place to do lots of hiking. We have never stayed in Catalina State park. If you get up to the Phoenix area, try Usery Mt. campground. It is gorgeous.
