We have been in Bagley a little over a week. We have been doing things and we will continue to do things. It's nice for us to have a mailing address and I have been taking advantage of that.
We have signed up for Sling TV, a service that allows access to most tv shows, most of the time. We have Netflix as well so as long as we keep our hotspot loaded we will have tv wherever we are.
Saturday we visited a neighbouring community for a giant pumpkin contest and a vintage car show. The weather held and we had a good time. Even got to sample lefse, a Norwegian flatbread.
The locals brought their biggest pumpkins and they were all lined up in a row. Apparently they don't have to be traditional orange but they cannot be split. The heaviest pumpkin did not win because it had a split along the bottom.
The largest at 1,101 lbs but not the winner |
The tally board. Notice the heaviest pumpkin has no name beside it. |
The weighting process Notice David and Stefani in the upper right corner |
There were contests for the kids too. This little guy got egged. |
A few of the others.
Doug's brother David had one just like this. |
Tomorrow is another day and we will be off on a day trip, on a bus of all things.

Those are quite the pumpkins. Sounds like you are having a lot of fun.
I'm not sure about pumpkin lefse. Ours were always plain until we spread them with butter, cinnamon and sugar. They are a treat I miss now that no one in the family makes them anymore.
There was pumpkin and plain. They ate them with butter and sugar. They ate them all.
Those were definitely huge pumpkins! We've grown a few pumpkins in the past but they weren't even close to those in size.
