LONDON: Colchester and the wedding

We were gratefully delivered to our hotel by cousin Barry and his wife Linda.  After settling in and freshening up we went out for a meal and met the charming 7 year old Maddison.

Thursday we braved the train and traveled to Colchester to visit family friend, Sayuri, her husband and daughters.  Although we got there fine, we did travel on the train ticketless until the ticket taker caught us.  We pleaded ignorance and he was very understanding.

Friday was the wedding.  We knew the English were partiers, but WOW.  Great food, loud live music, dancing and drinking.  We danced and drank but not like most of them.  We got back to the hotel after 1:00 am.

Here are a few pictures.

The wedding cake was mostly cupcakes

Now for the bad news.  We are not sleeping more than a few hours a night.  I am not a good sleeper at the best of times and that coupled with jet lag, a strange bed and our inexperience getting around without a car, we are exhausted.  We have cancelled Paris and are looking to fly out this week. Don't be too sad for us, we are anxious to get back to our regular traveling life.  We have had fun.

Oh that is too bad, but I guess you feel the need to get back into your " routine "!!!
Are you heading straight for the states?

I'm not surprised. I always say the most fun comes in the planning. The trip was pretty ambitious but now you've done it so on to the rest of the winter. You get to start planning again and that's fun. And, you did enjoy the wedding. You got on the train without a ticket??

Ive never tried to do anything like going to England and Paris but I'm sure it would be exhausting. Cone back to your new home and relax.

Travel to England and/or Europe is exhausting and we never had a wedding or anything like that to attend. We always tried to have a first day of doing nothing to give us some time to adjust before joining any group activities. We learned that on our first trip when we didn't yet understand jet lag. :(

You probably will need a few days of recovery once you get home before you are ready to travel even in your motorhome.

What a grand wedding. I just love seeing everyone having such an awesome time. The bride was gorgeous.

You two need to do what is best for both of you. Paul would have probably been exhausted and want to get back home too. Me...I love parties....lol Safe travels.

Well that is too bad. Schedule yourselves a couple of down days to catch up on rest and you may have a different outlook. Such a long ways to travel and then cut it short. Best wishes, Ruby & Jack
