We hear the geese flying south almost all day long. Soon we will join them. South >>>>>>
I am certain that many full-timers look at the routes in the cities and towns they are familiar with and wonder how visitors would do getting around with the signage on the streets. We do.
Upon arriving in Winnipeg on Tuesday, we expected to have no trouble at all navigating to our campsite. After all we have been here before and Winnipeg has a great perimeter highway that takes you around to where you want to be. Well, let me tell you, the construction is crazy and the signs are gone or so hidden that hauling a rig on unfamiliar highways is next to impossible. We had to go through the city. And yes, it was rush hour. I searched for a picture. There are plenty of images of what the project will look like finished but none of the mess.
We finally found our way into Bird's Hill park. The park is almost empty. We have our loop to our self.
The first morning, I got a text from a girlfriend who I reunited with 4 years ago. She is from Parksville, BC and her and her husband were visiting her sister in Winnipeg and just happened to be going to brunch here in the park. We arranged to meet and had a lovely time.

The restaurant, called Pine Ridge Hollow, was very nice and had gardens all around it.
We managed to tuck in a small rest in the afternoon and then met up with our daughter, Charlette and her two sons, James who is almost 15 and William who is 12. Charlette's husband, Glen was working. We went to dinner at Moxies.
Today we will have to catch up with the laundry and rest up. Tomorrow - shopping for a new television. We'd had enough of this problematic one and we will gift it to William.

I hate driving through cities even when they aren't under construction and signs are up. Glad you made it okay and we're able to enjoy the rest of your day.

We were in the Dallas/Fort Worth area last spring and felt the same way. Every freeway around was under construction. It was a maze. Everything had changed. We thought at least we had a GPS but that didn't always work unless you're using the ones online. Our GPS wasn't current enough to even know some of the roads no longer had exits off the newly modified freeways.
Nonstop fun for you two. We,too, are always commenting on signage when we travel. I guess some cities just don't like visitors. So it seems.
The signage I hate is the ones that tell you about 500 ft before your exit that it is on the other side of the highway. We have a lot of left turns to on ramps in the Twin Cities that don't tell you until you are already on the overpass that you'll need to turn left, not right.
Look how skinny you are getting! You must have to buy a size smaller pants every month or two!
