I WANNA TALK ABOUT ME!!! (Toby Keith)

Yeah, that's right.  I want to talk about me.  Sitting still does not give one a lot to blog about.

Sunday, April 17, 2016 I turned 65 years old.  Yeah, 65!!  Remember when you were in your 20's and thought about growing old and all you could fathom was say 50 years old.  Well folks, here I am 65 years old and I don't feel much different than I did when I was 50.

Me at 18
We had left the coast and most of the family so I didn't anticipate any big celebration for my birthday.  Coupled with the fact that our oldest son, Jason and his daughter, Sophie, have birthdays at about the same time, chances were slim.

On the eve of my birthday, our friends Donna and Gord, and their granddaughter Hailey, surprised me with balloons, gifts and a cake.

Donna and Gord are not only dear friends but our staff.  Gord has worked at the park almost as long as we have and Donna worked part time for us last summer.  Donna and Gord adopted their granddaughter Hailey-Jade 2 years ago after her mother died.

On the morning of my birthday, Doug said "So what would you like to do for your birthday?"   I said "All of my favourite things".

We left the house about 9 and drove to Kamloops (about an hour away).  First stop my favourite breakfast spot.  Cora's is incredible.

Mushroom and Brie Benny.  The fresh fruit display comes with every breakfast
After breakfast, I went shopping.  Additionelle is my favourite plus size store.  I got several things and even got a $5.00 off birthday bonus.

On to The Brick, a furniture store.  We are in the market for a new love seat.  Just window shopping this time.

We had a bit of grocery shopping to do at Walmart and then we went to the movies.  We saw Eye in the Sky with Helen Mirren.  Amazing movie, so tense it felt like the movie was over so quickly.

We drove back to the park and were invited to brother-in-laws David and Liz's for dessert.

Back home by 8:00 to watch a movie.

It was one of the best days of my life.

                   65 ain't bad at all!
