Good-bye Pilot Knob - Hello Rovers' Roost

Friday, we packed up and rolled off.  Left our favourite boondocking area for our favourite park.  Friends Irene and Bill had left the day before.  They took us to the famous Flea Market in Calexico on the Wednesday.  What an experience!  Not sorry we went but we won't be back.

The orange things hanging are PANTIES

There's Doug in the middle, Emily in the white shirt.

We had a fire the night before we left, Emily and Bill, Doug and I and the wonderful little dog, Captain.

Our last night at Pilot Knob with friends Emily Bill and of course, Captain.

Short drive and we were in Casa Grande at the Escapees' park, Rovers' Roost, that we have spent the last 6 Christmases.  We have many, many friends here and we really enjoy it.  The weather is (and will continue to be) fabulous.

Site 56 - some friends wondered about the last of trees.  There are "trees" or cacti on either side of this picture.

Saturday evening we met up with several SKP friends for dinner at the best Chinese food place in town.  There were a total of 22 of us.

From lady in hat Diane, Bernie, Doug, Me, Jan, Bob, Alva, George ? Bev, Jim, Lucille, Cathy and Dale

And then for the reason for the get together, the annual Casa Grande Christmas Light parade.  Casa Grande has only a population of 37,000 but this little town manages to have a parade of 100 entries.  Lasts about 2 hours.  This year the temperature didn't drop as low as last year because we were prepared.  Toques, gloves, blankets.  Cathy even had longjohns

Of course the Minions are my favourites.

Minions

There are lots of activities in this park, especially at Christmastime.  We can do or we can not.  At the moment we are happy to just relax and enjoy the weather and our friends.

think the last population I heard for Casa Grande was almost 50,000. It wasn't even 10,000 when we came here.
