We're Outta There!

September 15, 2014 – My 500th Blog – Leaving Day

This day has been longed for. We had a long hard summer working in the park. Lots of responsible, many hours and lots of problems. Being responsible for 5 staff and at times 600 – 800 people its wearing.

But it’s over now. It’s time to let it all go. Put it behind us and get back to our life on the round. New places, new people and endless time to ourselves.

The night before we left, Dave and Liz gave us a farewell dinner. They both love to cook and have a perfect home for entertaining.

Just a few pictures of our sumptuous meal.

Tomato Squash Soup - vegetables from their garden
Yummy Brie Salad

Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding - vegetables from their garden

It was a beautiful evening. The sunset on the lake is quite spectacular. The sunset is actually behind us but it makes for great colours on Nicola Lake.

The boss had arrived with our final pay cheques that afternoon so that taken care of (smile, smile, smile) we were anxious to be on our way. Up at 6:00 am and pulling out at 8:00 am.
The boss was still asleep in the cabin.

A final farewell with our co-worker, Gord and we were on our way.

A few of the usual suspects were up and ready to send us on our way.

We had an uneventful trip down the Coquahalla highway to the place in Langley that we usually stay. We have a bit of a different location on the property as another couple is in our normal spot. But who’s complaining. Look at the views outside our windows.

Yes those are ducks in the picture. There was also a snake but I may have hallucinated it.

We are off for a busy day of appointments and shopping but we are BACK. Back doing things for ourselves.

We survived! Thanks to all of you who made that possible – Sue and Doug, Gord and Donna and Matt.

Wow that was some meal! It looked like something from a 5 star restaurant. We're looking forward to seeing again.
Glad you're wheels are rolling now.
