PORT TOWNSEND KINETIC KARTOON FESTIVAL

This morning we set out with Lynda for a ferry trip to Port Townsend for the Kinetic Kartoon Festival.  We walked on the ferry.  Interesting thing they do on Washington ferries.  Jigsaw puzzles in various stages of completion are left on the tables.  What a neat idea!

While Lynda and I worked on a puzzle Doug took pictures.  The trip went very quickly.

We arrived with plenty of time to watch the parade participants arrive and make ready their "entries".  We found a handy lamp standard to sit on and watch.

There certainly was an eclectic assortment of entries.  All entries must be "man/woman powered" and must have the ability to run on the road or in the water.

and there were bands and lots of children on bicycles and dogs everywhere.

The deal is, the entries are to parade down to the end of the main street and then prepare to run into the ocean, go around a buoy and return to dry land.  HOWEVER - after nearly an hour - no one had entered the water.  We had to listen to this woman with her annoying Bugs Bunny voice on a microphone for that whole time.

After we posed for this adorable picture, we gave up and went for ice cream.

We returned with sore feet and sunburned faces.

Thanks to our tour guide - Lynda.

Dang, guess Lynda forgot that after the Parade you need to go have Lunch. Then return to the area for the Water Trial. It's always over an hour after the Parade before they start the Water Show. Having seen your pictures I really mad that I had to miss it this year. ALWAYS A FUN FILLED DAY.

What a great time. That is something I would enjoy. Maybe not the bugs bunny voice though.
