BEING GRANDPARENTS - Babysitting Sophie etc.

Last night we had the opportunity to babysit our granddaughter, Sophie.  Sophie Allie Marie is five years old and full of energy.

This is Sophie - last Christmas
Although we don't see Sophie for long periods of time while we travel, she is entirely comfortable with Gramma Toni and Grampa Doug.  We played Disney Yahtzee, we played Candyland, just like I used to play with her Daddy when he was that age.

At five years old, Sophie is very good with counting and understands the rules (even if she makes them up as she goes.)

Between games we played "let's pummel Grampa Doug".  He is such a sport and is not sporting too many bruises today.

Sophie's favourite clothes are none at all.  When I asked whether she was getting cold, she replied "No Gramma, I have special skin".  I replied that when I was hot I like to take my clothes off too but I wouldn't do that at their house, she wrinkled up her nose and replied "No Gramma, that would be silly!".

The picture says it all !   Charm !

She said she was happy that we had come for a "sleepover" and I told her that we were sorry but we weren't sleeping over.  To that she replied "Then why are you wearing your slippers".

We had a blast.  Parents Jason and Michelle - you are raising a wonderful, charming daughter.  Congrats to you!

Out of the mouths of babes come the cutest things. She is just a sweetheart and will definitely keep you on your toes.

What a doll baby. I just love that age. They are so innocent and say whatever pops in their minds. Most of the time they are telling the truth...and many times we don't want to hear it.
Why were you wearing your slippers?
