A TRIBUTE TO ED

For the past while we have had a very nice neighbor.

Ed is 78 years old and has been full-timing in his Casita for 9 years.  17 feet long, too small for most of us but he does just fine.  The little Casita has most of the amenities bigger rigs have just smaller.

He can haul with a small SUV.  He has solar panels and boondocks most of the time.

Ed is a very interesting man.  He grew in occupied Holland during the Second World War and faced many hardships.  He came to the US after short stints in North Africa and Brazil.  He arrived in the US with his clothes and $100.00.  Eventually he became a pilot for Northwest Airlines.  He says the fact that he spent a lot of time in a cockpit enables him to be able to live in his Casita.

Thanks for sharing with us Ed.  Travel safe and we'll see you somewhere down the road.

We really enjoy meeting people like Ed. Compared to our life, so many people have done and seen so much!
Also, I love the photo of the cactus. Great eye! ~wheresweaver

I can't imagine living full-time in such a small rig. But that's one of the many things that makes this lifestyle so interesting isn't it - so many different type rigs for all the different type people. Good for him !!
