MY MEMORY SLIPPERS

Jim and Doug deciding......
In January we were setting up to boondock for several weeks in the desert outside Yuma, Arizona.  We were the first to arrive.  Then along came Jim and Sandie.  Shortly after that Jeri and Terry arrived.  After a rather heated discussion with the Park Host, we finally found an acceptable place.  Acceptable to the Park Host and okay with us.

We were expecting about 16 rigs and wanted to mark our space.  Jeri had gone to a lot of trouble making stakes and providing balloons and wool to stake our claim.  Doug and I placed the stakes and roped them area off with the wool.

Along came the Park Ranger to tell us we could not do that.  It was against the "rules".  So we took it all down.  Eventually the stakes became kindling and the balloons blew away.  I told the group that one day I would make use of that wool.   I have......

My "Memory" slippers
Yup, I picked all the bits of tumbleweed, dirt and sticks out of the wool and knit my "Memory" slippers.
Told ya I would.

You are too funny. Love the slippers and the memories they bring back. Good times were had. More to come in the future.

I.M. a thinkin' yer one of them folks with a mind that works in ways that the world ain't yet figured out how to interrupt. Looks to me like folks that cross yer path might wonder if they took a wrong turn. Howsoever, with a mind like I.M. got, what ya write makes cents.

Really, really cute ... but aren't those MY slippers? It was MY wool. You said so yourself.

Loved the post.

I missed the episode of the wool but still have good memories of the gathering. Having slippers to remind you is a real bonus!
