CHIPPEWA PARK - Thunder Bay, Ontario

This is a great park.  The majority of it is brand new, it's first year.  The sites are spacious and clean and very easy to access.  The walking trails are terrific.  We are not really sure what this body of water is, a lagoon perhaps.  Lake Superior is just over the rise.

The park is on an Indian Reservation is an added bonus is the fact that the gas is 10 cents cheaper than in town.

Early morning mist on the lagoon.

The island is the background is called "Sleeping Giant".  Can you see it?
You can take a road up the mountain to the lookout and see the whole city.  Be warned the road is very rough and at the top, without any warning, you have to pay $5.00.  But it's worth it.

Parker had a great time swimming around trying to find the muskrat and beavers.  But the real fun came when he chased a squirrel into the bush.  A few seconds later he bolted out of the bush, tail between his legs, ears back, whimpering.  We think the squirrel led him into an ambush, perhaps a beaver.
