Terrace BC - Wild Duck and Vera and Jim

It is so strange for me to be back in familiar territory.  Memories are coming back to me that I have put away for nearly forty years.  The highway from Prince George east to Terrace may have changed in forty years but there are still memories.

This is Smithers, BC.  There was once a glacier here that you could walk on.  There were no signs indicating the glacier so I can just assume it melted.

This is a sculpture in the square in Smithers that I remembered visiting as a child.

When we were children, my parents always stopped the car so we could watch the Indians spear fish here at Moricetown Falls.  The Indians have no limits to the fish they can take from the rivers.  Doesn't seem fair.

So now we are at Wild Duck RV park in Terrace.  My oldest friend Vera and her husband bought this park about 3 years ago.   The park is beautiful.  There are beautiful gardens, gazebos, and the sites are each uniquely different.  We are going to be here until Friday when we are going down the road 100 miles to my home town of Prince Rupert for the 100th Homecoming of the town.  (That'll take several blogs).  After the weekend in Prince Rupert we will be coming back here.  Although Doug had never met Jim, they really hit it off.

I hope all your trips down memory lane are wonderful and happy ones.

Isn't it nice when your husband hits it off with your friends' husbands and you with his friend's wives? I wish that always happened. We both like most people but, in the past, there were a couple of wives I could have lived without knowing. :) I'm so glad that hasn't happened in our RVing life.
