"It Never Rains in California" but boy don't they warn ya, it snows and it snows.

Woke up and it was so sunny and bright. Wow. Birds singing, flowers blooming.

So we go for groceries and to do a few of the thrift stores in Oakhurst. Oakhurst is at 4,000 ft., about 30 miles from Yosemite. Well, they have snow and quite a bit of it. They do a good job of keeping the roads clear.

We drove out to Bass Lake where we had been last October. Last October the lake was so low that the slips at the marinas were high and dry. Not anymore. The lake is high.

After a long lazy afternoon, we went to the Clubhouse to play Pegs and Jokers with our friends, Lori and Mike, Jan and Murt, and new friends Carol and Gerry. We have fun. It's not a serious time. We tell jokes, eat and drink a little. It is amazing to us that all these folks are at least 10 years older than us but so young at heart.

We haven't yet decided when we are going to leave from parts north. Tomorrow we will see if our mail has caught up to us. If it has and the weather on the coast is better, we will leave on Sunday morning. If not we will be here for a while longer. We do like it here.
