This year Doug and I decided that we would not take a vacation on my two weeks of holidays in May.  We decided to stay home and do little trips and around town things.

The first weekend, we made our usual trip to the Lynden Post Office to mail our eBay parcels but continue on.  First we went to the Burlington Outlet Mall and while I shopped, Doug sat in the car, ate chocolates and had a very sound nap.  We continued on and found a very nice motel in Mount Vernon, got settled and when out to dinner. We went to a very nice restaurant just across the street from the motel for Italian/Greek food.  It was very reasonably priced.    We watched movies in our room and drank wine.  Very relaxing.  In the morning, we went to Denny's for breakfast.  Wonderful as usual.  We had no trouble at the border even though I had spent nearly $200.00 on clothes.

The following weekend, May 24th, we went up to Merritt for David's surprise 60th birthday party.  There were about 40 people there.  It was great fun.  We stayed Saturday, Sunday and Monday night.  On Sunday, Doug and I rowed around in a rubber dingy on the lake and got quite sunburnt.  On Monday, we went over to Salmon Arm and took Doug's Mom out to lunch.

Wednesday night we had a very successful dinner party for Rob and Val, and Nancy and John.

We have no other formal plans for the rest of the holiday except relaxation.
