OUR NEW HOME

Most of you readers knew that we were about to make a big change in our roaming ways.  First we bought a little car (the first one we looked at) and then we bought a motorhome (also the first one we looked at).  To be fair, I had researched both the car we purchased and the motorhome we purchased on-line.  The internet is a wonderful tool.

The little car is a 2014 Nissan Sentra Note and now that we have put some 500 km on it, we love it.  It handles so well, does the mountains with no problem and it's very comfortable.  This wee car will be towed, on a trailer, behind the motorhome.

Heading to Merritt, me in the car, Doug in the truck towing the house

Even though, with some adjustments, we could tow the car with all four wheels on the ground or 2 wheels on the ground and 2 on the trailer, Doug has decided he will be much more comfortable and the car will be much safer, if we trailered the car behind the motorhome.   We understand the drawbacks.

So this is our lovely new home.  We will not be taking possession for a while as we are having an oven installed and solar placed on the roof.  We are very excited.

She is a 2013 Thor Challenger, gas powered, 37.8 feet, 3 slides and has 52,000  km (33,000 miles)

floorplan

This picture is from the front of the coach to the back.  I have already planned for an area carpet in front of the chesterfield, a long thin coffee table and some wooden bar stools at the bar.

There are so many things we love about this motorhome.  A few are:  the television that disappears into the sideboard

The double door fridge and the island with a bar

The bedroom is hidden in the back of the coach.

There are more bells and whistles than I can list here but a few:

  • bar fridge in the bay under the outdoor television
  • generator has only 155 hours on it
  • not just a backup camera but a side camera as well
  • plumbed for washer/dryer (we will decide on that later)
We have arranged to use our truck and fifth wheel as a trade in.  This will net us less money but so much more convenience.  When we are ready we will just haul the fifth wheel to the dealership, put them side by side, and move in.

Stay tuned.....

Wow! That's an even better plan than the one I was looking at. We loved our retractable TV. I'm not at all surprised to hear you are having an oven installed. And solar is always good to have. I think you are going to love tis place as much as you did your 5th wheel.

The one thing I always disliked about a motorhome is having the door open with the passage seat in the way. I can't imagine carrying stuff in and going around that seat. Your's is much better.
