RIP Dad

William Courtney Turner, born October 24, 1930 died February 27, 2017

My father, William C. Turner, passed away Monday, February 27th at Eagle Ridge Hospital in Port Moody.

Dad contracted terminal lung cancer even though he quit smoking over 30 years ago.  He was diagnosed in June 2016.  Over the last month he was hospitalized with stomach ulcers, and in the last days developed emphysema and pneumonia.

We saw him on Friday and although we knew it was unlikely, he was speaking of going home.  Saturday we were called by the hospital and told that he was near the end of the battle.  Sunday we went up and although he was mostly unconscious, we did get to say our "good byes".

By Dad's request, there will be no service.

So sorry for you and so sorry for him. However, timing was good for you. You had some great conversations with him. That was good for you and good for him. Hopefully, the rest will go smooth for you.

Toni & Steve,
Toni, thank you for your call and sad to hear of the passing of your Dad, and our next door neighbor for 30+ years.
He was a good neighbor; occasionally sharing a good joke with us.
Our thoughts are with you and your family.
