MOVING ON

Last year we made a day trip to Corpus Christi and ate at Doc's on Padre Island.  We returned.  Fabulous!

Doug's meal - Mahi-Mahi with Laguna Shrimp Sauce

Mine - Portabella Mushrooms stuffed with crab
Our meals were incredible once again.  The service is perfect and we were lucky enough to arrive at sunset.

Pretty green spotlights under the water

I wish I could say such complimentary things about the campground.  When we came last year we scouted out what we thought was Mustang Island State park.  We couldn't find the one we had seen so we stayed at Mustang Island State park.

From the get-go it was an unenviable experience.  The check-in clerk was completely indifferent.  Our site had the shelter and table on the wrong side.  The sites are small, car-lot sites are further apart.  The shelter and table are filthy and old.

This was taken before the site in the foreground was taken.

And the wind!!  and the humidity! We have had two nights of  very little sleep.  Doug wants to do the USS Lexington tour so we will do that this morning and leave this afternoon.

We will not be back.

Oh my gosh, your meal looks delicious.
Thanks for the heads up on the Stat Park. We thought about stopping there. Not any more.

I've heard that the wind is brutal down that way. Glad you got a great meal to make up for it a little bit.

We stayed at a commercial one on the island but it was very expensive.

Nummy on the dinner! We stayed in Corpus a couple years ago. Yes! It was very windy but it was also beautiful.
