CAJUN SWAMP TOURS

We were advised that a must-see, must-do when visiting Betty's RV was a swamp tour.  Champagne's swamp tours is just $20.o0 each for a two hour tour.  We took our new friends Ray and Wendy to near-by Breaux Bridge, Louisiana.

The rest of this blog could just be pictures but here's just a bit.  Our tour guide, a friendly young man calling himself Captain Morgan was so informative.  He lives on the bayou in the neighbourhood and grew up there.  The flat bottomed boat was very comfortable and very safe.  As it turns out, most of the water is only a few feet deep.

Turtles are red earred sliders

Wild life is plentiful.  Alligators, turtles and hundreds of birds.  Captain Morgan knows all about the trees, and the vegetation in the water.

And the pictures:

For some reason when they tell you to keep your hands in the boat and don't put them in the water, I wanted to do it. (But I didn't). I guess just gliding along it was so relaxing.

We've done swamp tours and they are a lot of fun. It's nice you had an opportunity to do it. Alligators are fun to photograph but we certainly wouldn't want them to get too close.
