ABBEVILLE, Louisiana

We are still in Abbeville and still happy to be.  Doug has been nursing a sore back so we have been taking it easy.

Betty has been raising Monarch butterflies.  When we arrived 3 weeks ago, they were cocoons.  Then last week they became chrysalis and yesterday they "hatched".

Betty's RV has been rather empty for the last week.  At one point there were just two of us.  There are four right now and a few more expected tomorrow.  There are going to be 7 or 8 rigs by Thanksgiving (next Thursday).  It will be a pot luck and I am doing desserts.

Last evening we went to The River Front Grill on Betty's recommendation.  Darn good recommendation at that.  We had to try the alligator bites.  Apparently it is supposed to taste like chicken.  We found it tasted fried but that was all.  It was quite chewy as well.  But we wanted to be able to say we have tried alligator.

Our entrees were great.  Doug had the grilled shrimp

and I had the Shrimp Angelo with a crab cake in the middle.

Today we went for a long drive, but that's for another day's blog.

We've tried the alligator tail a few times. It was okay but not something we would really order.
