EVIDENCE THAT YOU ARE ALL OUT THERE

I put up a blog the other day, decided I didn't like it and took it down.  I used the "delete" tab and apparently the "shell" stayed up and nothing else.  Thank you all for your concern.  Nope nothing is wrong, not with us, not with my new computer.  A-okay.

I am writing this one before eight o'clock in the morning during a fierce thunderstorm.

We here in Merritt haven't had flash floods but it has been booming and flashing out there both last night (the power was knocked out for several hours ha ha doesn't bother us) and this morning.

I believe it is all Graeme's fault.  He is here for the weekend and he LOVES thunderstorms.  Well he is sleeping through this part in his little tent.

*********************************************************

What have we been up to?  Mostly work.  We have had many compliments from regular campers about how great the park looks and how they are so pleased with the improvements we have made.  Doug made a dog beach.  We have been painting, installing soap dispensers in the bathrooms, even new toilet paper and towel dispensers.  Wa hoo!

We have survived our first long weekend.  Canada's Victoria Day weekend fell on the first day of reservations in the park making it very, very busy.  We had our little store all ready.

We filled our ice cream chest to brimming.

And they did come.  All 120 sites filled to capacity and several groups in our over-flow were eventually found sites.

And then they all left.

And now... we are back to a manageable group.

As I write this, in the thundering rain, several rigs are dashing out of the park.  Not to worry, we can't flood.   I guess we can wash into the lake though.

I wouldn't want to be in a tent during a thunderstorm. Like my house much better. You guys have really worked hard to make it a nice campground and I'm sure glad people are noticing and appreciating.

I remember being in a tent during a ferocious rain storm. We had to dig a ditch around the tent to keep us dry. Not fun.
