Q: What have we been doing? A: Lots of stuff

As our time here in the Yuma area winds down, we are trying to finish all the things we intended to do in the area.  That does not include eating out.  We have done too much of that.

Doug has been working on the “once again reconfigured” boxes on the back of the truck.  Reconfigured because we have a new generator.

Speaking of the new generator, Doug has built an insulated box that goes around the generator.  It cuts about half the noise down.  One side of the box is left open.  The sides all collapse for easy transport.  What a handy guy my Dougie is.

Yesterday we played tourist.  We know our way around Yuma pretty well now.  We set out early.

We had seen on the television that there was going to be a “Thank You Winter Visitors” affair at the fairgrounds starting at 9:00.  We arrived at about 8:45 – to this…

No one in this line under 60 yrs old for sure!   We saw the magic word “FREE” in the commercial.  Tickets were given to the first 200 visitors for either a t-shirt or a bag.  They were gone in the first 10 minutes.   We got our free t-shirts and were quite impressed and amused.  What a cute slogan

We also had a free soft ice-cream cone, at 9:00 in the morning.   Oh well free and dairy for breakfast.

We found a book sale at the Goodwill store and came away with 10 new books in great condition for $2.00.  Can’t beat that.

Can’t pass by the 99 Cent Store.  What a discovery – they sell Jelly Belly Flops for 99 cents.   I’m in heaven.  Only sorry I just bought one bag.

We have been in Arizona for three and a half months and have not had any dates.  I love dates.  Rather than venture out of town a little bit to Martha’s Date Farm (we have been there before) we went in search of a date place in the Old Town.  The dates in the store were way too pricey but as luck would have it there was some sort of farmers/craft sale in Old Town.  I got my dates!   Huge Medjool dates.  Nothing like them.

Doug likes museums.  I do not.  So next we went to the Historical Quartermasters Museum.  He went in.  I stayed in the truck and I started one of my new books and ate a few dates.   He takes photos and I look at them.  That’s all I need to see.

What a neat thank you from Yuma. I could eat ice cream anytime of the day!

Paul would have gone nuts at that book sale. I order books on line from Goodwill all the times. Usually 99 cents online.

Love those T-shirts. We stopped at Dateland on our way back and Jim tried his first date shake. He didn't care for it because it had bits of dates in it. Said he liked the taste though.

I love the shirts. If you were waiting for Bill to go through a museum you'd need a set of Encyclopedia's to read. We checked out the BLM where you were last year. What a beautiful spot.

We had a date shake in Yuma and thought it was "okay". Give me a chocolate shake any day. Love the t-shirts. That line looked huge!
